Additional Requirements
- Non-musical
a. All candidates must possess and
maintain a grade point average
of 2.5 or better.
b. All candidates must exhibit exemplary
citizenship.
c. All candidates must have a personal interest
in and love for singing.
d. All candidates must exhibit a willingness to
learn.
e. All candidates must submit a complete
application package.
- Musical
a. All candidates should have some prior musical
experience or
training (i.e. lessons, school
choir).
b. All candidates must prepare (1) a cappella
selection.
c. All candidates must demonstrate an ability to
match pitch.
d. All candidates should exhibit good tone
quality.

Detroit Metropolitan Youth Ensembles (DMYE) provides
youth, ages 8 to12, opportunities to develop their
musicianship and express their talent and skill from a
vocational perspective via training, rehearsal and performance
opportunities that ultimately enhance self esteem, discipline,
motivation, perseverance, concentration, creativity and
academic skills.
